The range

Four products. That is the whole range, and it is deliberate.

Everything here comes off our own lines. Dyeing is the one step we buy in, from a partner dyehouse. We would rather make four things properly than list forty and pass thirty-five to somebody else.

Fitted sheets

Single jersey with covered elastic all round, so the corners still sit flat after a year of washing. The size range follows what cot mattresses actually are in each market, not a catalogue.

The same jersey and the same covered elastic, cut for a 30 cm mattress. The sizes follow what each market's listings are actually built around — 90 × 200 and 140 × 200 in Germany, 90 × 190 and 140 × 190 in France, 135 × 190 for a UK double.

120 × 120 squares, hemmed on four sides. Large enough to actually wrap a newborn — the smaller sizes you see online are the ones that come back as returns.

We make these on the same floor. They go on sale once their price is final — we would rather leave them blank than publish a figure we cannot hold.

In detail

The fitted sheet, specified

This is the product we make most of, so this is the one we can be exact about. Everything below is what you would otherwise have to extract from us over four emails.

Fabric

Two yarns, and we say which is which. At 125 and 145 gsm the jersey is open end — rotor-spun, the yarn most cot sheets in this trade actually run on, and part of the reason a 350-piece order lands where it does. From 160 gsm up it is combed: the short fibres are taken out before spinning, so the surface pills less at the point where a heel rubs the same spot every night. The organic 160 is combed GOTS cotton. At 200 and 250 gsm the combed jersey carries 3 % and 5 % elastane, which is what grips a deep mattress without the corners riding up. We do not blend polyester in to hold the shape — the shape comes from the knit and the elastic.

Elastic and fit

Covered elastic all the way round, not just at the corners. Corner-only elastic is cheaper and it is the single most common reason a sheet pops off a mattress in the night. The sheet is cut for a mattress depth up to 12 cm, which covers the cot mattresses sold in European retail; deeper mattresses need a made-to-measure run and we will say so.

Sizes

60 × 120 and 70 × 140 are the two sizes that move in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and France, because those are the cot and cot-bed mattresses those markets sell. 40 × 90 is the side-sleeper and crib size, strong in German-speaking markets and almost dead everywhere else. Scandinavia adds 65 × 125 and the UK 63 × 127. Ordering outside your market's two main sizes is the most common first-order mistake we see.

Shrinkage and tolerance

Finished measurements are held to ± 2 cm, and the fabric is pre-shrunk so that residual shrinkage stays within 5 % over three washes at 40 °C. We give you these numbers before you order because they are the numbers your customer will complain about if we get them wrong.

Labelling

Every piece carries a printed care label with fibre composition, size and washing symbols — the part European law requires, included in the price and not a line item. A woven brand label in the side seam is optional and priced separately, because plenty of first orders sensibly skip it.

Minimums and lead time

From 350 pieces for a first order, and 350 per colour — two colours is 700. Six weeks of production plus a week of road freight into Germany, with no customs duty on the EU side. Repeat orders run shorter because the pattern, the elastic and the dye lot are already set.

What we do not make

No t-shirts. No duvet sets. No promotional textiles. If you need those, we are the wrong factory and we will tell you in the first email rather than the fourth.

A factory that claims to make everything is describing its sales team, not its machines.

Capacity

We can produce 100,000 pieces a month across the range. Small enough to take a 350-piece first order seriously, large enough that you will not outgrow us in your second year.
